My Favorite Faith-Based Tools for Managing Anxiety

Motherhood is beautiful, but it’s also heavy.

There have been so many moments, especially during postpartum seasons or on the hard homeschool days, when my thoughts felt louder than truth. When anxiety crept in and made me feel like I had to carry it all alone. But over the years, I’ve learned something life-changing:

God never asked me to carry it alone.

And one of the most powerful shifts in my anxiety journey has been turning to faith-based tools that help me quiet the noise, anchor my thoughts, and make space to be still with God.

Today, I’m sharing my favorite resources that have truly made a difference in my mental, emotional, and spiritual health as a mom.

1. Rooted and Thriving Journal

🛒 Available here

I created this journal out of my own need to slow down, reconnect with God, and release the pressure I was carrying. It's a space to be honest, with yourself and with the Lord, without any pressure to be perfect.

What I love most is that it’s guided, but gentle. You don’t need a full hour of silence (which, let’s be real, most of us moms don’t have). Even five minutes of reflection with this journal has helped me reset my heart and breathe deeper.

This one is so beautiful inside and out. I use it specifically when I want to journal through Scripture. The margins are wide, the font is easy to read, and it truly feels like a sacred space to slow down with God’s Word. I often pair this with my Rooted & Thriving Journal during my quiet time.

3. Hymns for a Mother’s Heart

🛒 Shop it here

This one is truly something special.

Hymns for a Mother’s Heart is more than just a devotional, it’s a soul-soothing reminder that the truths we sing in worship still hold us in the chaos of motherhood. Each hymn is paired with Scripture, reflection, and encouragement that speaks directly to a mother’s weary heart.

I turn to this when I feel like I’m running on empty, when the house is loud, my thoughts are louder, and I just need to remember who God is. It gently walks you through the deep theology behind familiar songs and brings so much comfort in a season where our hearts can feel heavy and unseen.

It’s a quiet companion for those moments when you want to connect with God but don’t quite have the words. The hymns become your prayer. And somehow, the peace comes.

4. Q&A Study Bible

🛒 Get it here

This Bible is amazing for busy moms who don’t have the time (or mental capacity) to dive deep into commentary every day but still want insight and guidance. It’s full of simple, helpful answers to common questions about Scripture, perfect for when anxiety spirals and you need straightforward truth.

5. Radiate Devotional

🛒 Available on Amazon

This devotional has encouraged me more than I can say. It’s short and sweet, but rooted in the Word. Some days I just read one page and journal one sentence, but even that little act of presence helps shift my focus from fear to faith.

Want to See These in Action?

If you want a closer look at how I use these tools in real life, I shared all of them in my recent YouTube video:👉 Bible Time Must-Haves (I walk through each one and share what’s worked for me as a homeschooling mom of 4 navigating postpartum anxiety and real-life chaos.)

If you’re walking through a heavy season, please know this:You’re not weak for feeling anxious. You’re not less of a believer because your thoughts feel messy. And you’re not alone.

God is not overwhelmed by your overwhelm. And He’s given us His Word, not as a to-do list, but as a lifeline. These tools have helped me hold on to truth when I was unraveling, and I pray they bless you in the same way.

With grace and so much love,

Michelle
