Faith-Based Routine Reset for Overwhelmed Moms

This past week was a full one in our home. We started not just one, but two new co-ops. One is a family co-op that we all attend together (even my 10-month-old), and the other is one where my kids don’t attend, but I get to teach two classes.


The sweetest part was having my daughter by my side as my assistant. Being in the classroom with her, sharing something I’m so passionate about, and watching her step into that role beside me was such a blessing. It’s one of those memories I’ll carry with me for a long time. 💛



But with all the newness, it was also… a lot. Between co-op teaching, homeschooling, adjusting routines, and caring for the baby, I felt completely scattered more than once. Maybe you’ve been there too, when your brain is juggling ten tabs at once and you can’t seem to focus on any of them.


That’s when I remind myself: overwhelm doesn’t mean I’m failing. It simply means I need a faith-based routine reset.


What is a “Faith-Based Reset”?

A faith-based routine reset isn’t about starting over from scratch or creating a brand-new schedule. It’s about small, intentional pauses that help me slow down, breathe, and re-anchor my heart in God’s peace instead of my own striving.


As Christian moms, we carry so many roles—homeschool teacher, caretaker, homemaker, and sometimes business owner. It’s easy to feel stretched thin. A reset helps us step away from the chaos and return to a place of peace and focus.


Simple Ways Moms Can Reset with God

Here are a few of the ways I’ve learned to reset when life feels overwhelming:


🌱 1. Take a 10-Minute Pause

Sometimes that means stepping outside for fresh air, offering up a quick prayer, or even doing nothing but breathing deeply for a few moments. A short pause can shift the whole tone of a day.



🌱 2. Write It Out (Faith Journaling for Anxiety)

Journaling for 10 minutes, writing out worries, gratitude, or even just a brain dump, always helps me clear mental clutter. It’s like untangling the knots in my thoughts so I can think more clearly.


🌱 3. Re-Anchor with Priorities

When I’m spinning my wheels, I’ll rewrite my top 3 priorities in my planner. Not the ten things I wish I could do, but the three that actually matter most today. It gives me permission to let go of the rest.


Why a Reset Matters

As moms, we often feel like we need to keep pushing through the overwhelm. But the truth is, when we reset—physically, mentally, and spiritually—we’re not losing time; we’re gaining peace.


And that peace is what allows us to be present with our families, to teach with joy, and to model what it looks like to walk with God even in the busy, messy seasons of life. If you’re in a season where you feel scattered or stretched thin, I want to encourage you to try your own reset. Start small:


  • Step outside for five minutes.

  • Write down three priorities.

  • Open your Bible to a verse that anchors you.


Building Community Through Faith

In our journey, it’s vital to remember that we are not alone. Connecting with other moms can provide the support we need. Sharing our experiences can lighten the load. Whether it's through a local group or an online community, finding your tribe can make a world of difference.


Embracing the Journey

Life as a homeschooling mom is a journey filled with ups and downs. Embrace each moment, even the challenging ones. They shape us and help us grow. Remember, it’s okay to ask for help. Lean on your community and let them support you through tough times.
